Performers make place popular The Cossie Club has some of the best facilities in Wairarapa and is making the most of its assets by putting on some great entertainment. The club recently hosted a hilarious Faulty Towers Dining Experience in the Turley Lounge which had guests in stitches. The 50 diners were all part of the comedic carry-on with Basil, Sibyl and Manuel bumbling through dinner service. This month the club hosts two classic shows by great Kiwi and international entertainers. On Friday, April 12, Jon Doyle and Ken Bennett perform their versions of magical memories in a show called: A Sentimental Journey in Song. This is an afternoon event, a perfect show after a satisfying lunch in the Stewart Lounge. Tickets only $10. Later in the month the ever- popular New Zealand singer John Rowles is performing for dinner guests in the same lounge. This is scheduled for April 24 at 5.30pm. These entertainment events are all part of a push to position the Cossie Club as the entertainment hub of Wairarapa, so it has booked acts that appeal to a wide audience. Manager Steve O'Hara says the club has had a great response to the dinner and show held recently and he is hoping to get the same entertainers back later in the year with a Mrs Brown's Boys version. This new focus on entertainment fits seamlessly with the Cossie Club's overall goal of being a complete hospitality venue. The club serves excellent meals and a variety of dining options. The Stewart Lounge can cater for up to 200 people so it is the ideal place to book a function. The Sunday buffet remains a favourite and there are several a la carte dining opportunities during the week on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. The Cossie Club always strives to be affordable for everybody and the range of desserts made on site is fantastic. If you are looking for top class entertainment, great food, or both, the Cossie Club is the place to go.
