REGISTERED CERTIFYING PLUMBER 4954454AC Pop party will welcome British cars to town The British High Commission and the Masterton District Council are holding a Brit-Pop Street Party next Wednesday to welcome The Great British Car Rally into town. The Great British Car Rally sets off on an incredible journey from Auckland down to Christchurch this summer. Organised by the British High Com- mission, the Great British Car Rally is travelling throughout the country to celebrate all that is British in New Zea- land. Classic and vintage cars will showcase the best of Britain s automotive history, through to a resurgent modern car industry which focuses on design and innovation. Aston Martin, Bentley, Jag- uar, Land Rover, Mini and Rolls Royce are all sponsors of the event. Members of the public are invited to see the splendid collection of vintage and modern British cars as they park-up in Masterton s Queen St. There will be spot prizes for the best dressed. Local British car clubs have also been invited to join the convoy into town and participate in the public display. The cost is $20 each vehicle, with all proceeds going to charity. The rally is also raising money en route for four New Zealand charities, including the Starship Foundation, Save the Children Fund, Stepping Stone Trust and the Christchurch City Mission. Brit-Pop Street Party: Queen Street, Masterton, Wednesday February 20, 12.30 till 2.30pm.
