Baby Pops magic returns GIVEAWAY Wairarapa News has two double passes to Baby Pops: Once Upon A Time on Tuesday, June 28. Enter by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Put BABYPOPS in the subject line. Vector Wellington Orchestra's Baby Pops is back in Masterton. The young audience for Baby Pops: Once Upon A Time will love the magic of storytelling as they take part in an adventure of symphonic proportions. This year's Baby Pops features an original piece for orchestra and nar- rator based on the beloved New Zea- land legend, Maui's Fishhook. Created by orchestral education pioneer Thomas Goss, the story will take the audience on a musical voy- age with plenty of scope for audience participation. Everyone can help to paddle Maui's canoe out to sea, or join maestro Marc Taddei in conducting the orchestra. Presenter Kevin Keys tells the story of Maui with drama, humour and a touch of magic. He'll also lead listeners on an orchestra hunt''. They'll discover the twittering winds, blaring brass, swooping strings, and booming percussion, then sing along with well-known tunes like The Bear Went Over The Mountain and Tutira Mai. Special guests Murray the Musical Bear and the Sugar Plum Fairy join Kevin and the orchestra in bringing classics like Grieg's Hall of the Mountain King and Beethoven's Eroica to life. The concert is suited for two to six-year olds. Baby Pops: Once Upon a Time, Tuesday 28 June, Masterton Town Hall, 10.15am. Tickets from Ticketek, phone 0800 842 538.
