A group of musicians and dancers including Warren Maxwell and his headlining band Trinity Roots are holding a benefit concert in Featherston on Sunday. The Us for Them event is billed as music and dance uniting Wairarapa communities to raise funds for Christchurch. The event will feature the dynamic dance troupe Urban Dance and Rescue in a once-only ground breaking performance. Also on the line-up are The But- tercuts, hailing from Wellington. Paddy Bleakley and his band of fellow funky freaks have a feel for the hip-hop groove. All profits will go to Christ- church Women's Refuge, an organ- isation that helps families and communities create better futures for themselves by supporting women and children to become and stay safe from family violence. South Wairarapa schools will also be raising money for the charity by cooking a sausage sizzle. There will be a cash-only bar, and non-alcoholic drinks, and snacks will also be available.
